FootTam™
The WoodSkin™ FootTam™ is a standalone device, sold separately. It is intended to be placed on the floor and struck with your heel or toe to produce a controlled range of tambourine type sounds.
There are two ways to alter the sound; one is based on where you strike it (with your heel or toe) across the width of it so it is completely dynamic, ie whilst you play with no effort. This is achieved by placing the supplied Velcro® spacers on the carpet base according to your preferred ‘feel’.
The second method is by tightening or loosening the jangles, for which you need a simple philips head screwdriver. The second (screwdriver) method is used to set the loudest jangly-ist sound the FootTam™ can make, whilst the first ‘dynamic’ method allows you to vary the sound from quiet to louder whilst you play based simply on where you strike the FootTam™. The range of sounds can be varied between a simple Ta, through to a more “jangly” tambourine sound.
The amount of “jangliness” of the FootTam™ can be set by tightening or loosening the screws on the jangles, and the amount of impact response can be adjusted by placement of the supplied Velcro® spacer(s) between the carpet base and the wooden edge of the unit.
